The Gran Viaje

Lunahuana

Peru

A German couple we met at our campsite in Arequipa recommended Lunahuana as a nice place to visit, but we didn't know much more about it than that when we arrived. It turns out it is a popular weekend destination for LimeƱos (people from Lima) who come for camping, river-rafting, and pisco-tasting. It is a long river valley with several ancient ruins, pisco vineyards, small towns, and nice hotels. We spent a leisurely two days walking around and enjoying the mellow atmosphere.
